Promoting Remembrance is part of The Royal Canadian Legion’s mission and has been one of our principal objectives since our inception. The Legion inspires Canadians to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country, and to honour those who served and continue to serve today. Remembrance is a year-long commitment and we endeavour to promote it through a number of programs, services and resources.
From the last Friday in October to Remembrance Day, millions of Canadians wear a Poppy as a visual pledge to never forget those who served and sacrificed. The red flower also is the symbol of the Legion's Poppy Campaign, raising funds to support Veterans and their families in need. We invite everyone across the country to show their recognition by proudly wearing this symbol of Remembrance.
Bob Hawkins' father, Jim Hawkins was a Lancaster Bomber Navigator in the Canadian Air Force post World War II.
The Bob Hawkins Band has put together a video with an original composition called Save My Soul, in dedication to his dad and all who serve and have served Canada.
We hope you will be encouraged by the video and share it with others .
